Uppittu, also known as Upma, is a beloved and widely enjoyed breakfast dish in India. It’s a go to choice in many households, cherished for its delightful flavors and comforting warmth. If you’re someone who’s living away from home and yearns for that traditional taste of your mom’s upma recipe, fret not. Udupi Kitchen has you covered. Our specially crafted Upma mix is designed to make your life easier and bring back those familiar, cherished flavors. It’s the closest you can get to your mom’s homemade recipe. INGREDIENTS: COOKING DIRECTIONS: ■ In a pan, heat 1 Tbsp. oil. Fry 1 small diced onion and 1 cup diced veggies of your choice. Add 1 cup water and cook. ■ Lower the flame, add the Udupi Kitchen Uppittu mix slowly and stir quickly to avoid lumps. ■ Add fresh lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves. Mix, cover and let it cook on low flame for a minute. Add 1 Tbsp of Ghee and serve.
Optional: You can make it without the onion or veggies. Suggested garnishing Temper with ghee and cashews. Garnish with coriander leaves. Can garnish with fresh grated coconut too. Serving Tip Goes really well with Udupi Kitchen Chutney Pudi, chutney or sambhar. |
